[u] - can be used untrained |
[a] - armor checks apply |
Notes
Craft -
Trained in craft, trade, or art: alchemy, armorsmithing,
basketweaving, bookbinding, blacksmithing, calligraphy, carpentry,
cobbling, gemcutting, leatherworking, locksmithing, painting,
pottery, sculpting, shipmaking, stonemasonry, trapmaking,
weaponsmithing, or weaving.
Knowledge
(tactics) - You can use this knowledge
skill to better access situations and opponents in battle.
Check: While
in combat, you may use a Knowledge (tactics) check in place of a
Spot check to gain combat awareness of any situation that occurs
within 20 feet of you. Attempting to access the tactics occuring in a
particular battle or to determine if a leader is present among
combantants in a battle is a DC 15 check. In a military campaign, a
DC 20 check enables you to provide a strategic advantage to your side
in a battle. You may also assess a particular opponent in battle,
This opposed check is equal to 10 + the hit dice of the opponent you
are trying to access., with a successful check indicating that you
have a general idea of the skill level of your opponent compared to
your own (more hit dice than you, the same hit dice, or less hit dice
than you). If you fail on any check by 5 or more, you receive false information.
Action:
Using combat awareness in place of a Spot check requires no action.
Assessing combat situations is a full round action. Using Knowledge
(tactics) to gain a strategic advantage for a battle requires 1 hour
of planning. Assessing an opponent taks a standard action.
Try Again:
No, you can't attempt to gain knowledge of which you are unaware. You
either know it or intuit it, or you don't.
Profession -
Trained in a livelihood or a professional role: apothecary, boater,
bookkeeper, brewer, cook, driver, farmer, fisher, guide, herbalist,
herder, hunter, innkeeper, lumberjack, miller, miner, porter,
rancher, sailor, scribe, siege engineer, stablehand, tanner,
teamster, weapons trainer, or woodcutter.
Speak Language
- It takes a month of game time to learn a new language, in addition
to all other training, although no additional monies are required.
Common languages, in addition to their foundations and alphabets, are
summarized in the languages
of Daelund table.
